ABOUT
Nori’s works center the body as form and flesh, but also as a creature with strong sociopolitical connotations and relationships with other bodies, structures, and its natural environment. Through a meditation on the body, they investigate questions of trauma, queer existence, and somatic enmeshments with the natural environment. They are based in Athens, Greece.
With a background in visual arts, their practice includes performance art, installations, collective creation with local communities, facilitating performative workshops, and artistic research. They have performed in galleries, theaters, and museums in Athens and internationally, and they often exhibit their visual works alongside their performances. In an extension of their practice, they have authored art books, produced curatorial texts and exhibition materials, conceptualized exhibitions, and operated digital marketing for art galleries in Greece. Nori has completed their BA in Visual Arts and their MA in Performing Public Space, and has received training in Performance Art from the National Theater of Greece.
“Always embedded within my gaze is a critique of power structures and sociopolitical hierarchies and an attempt to reimagine reality in an inclusive and caring manner. Queerness is not only an identity for me. It is the lens through which I see the world and create my art”
