Berry Graffiti in Gray Areas

This performance acts as a bridge between natural and urban environments through an act of disobedience: the well-preserved and sterile concrete benches of a polished urban park is vandalized by the berries that fell from the surrounding trees. The artist uses this fruit to color one tile of the bench, creating a somewhat permanent intervention in the space and disturbing the monochromatic architecture. In the end, the audience also becomes an accomplice to the action when the performer gifts each audience member one of the berries used for the graffitti. Will they receive a fine? Will the graffitti be washed away?
